Here is an example of fake news being used to change people’s minds. Turkey was not joining the EU. This was one of the lies used to manipulate British voters – and it worked. Such ads were send to “persuadeable targets”, we never saw those ads. The UK parliament forced Facebook to reveal them.

Carola knew there would be very serious consequences for her, but seeing the suffering refugees on board her Sea-Watch-3 ship, she decided to come to Italy – against the explicit wishes of the local government. As long as the world has young professional people like this, there is hope for our world.
